• Use a glass jar filled 2/3 with pebbles or stones.
• Place a paper towel or coffee filter on top and scatter seeds densely.
• Fill the jar with water so it touches the paper towel; maintain this water level.
• Alternative: use a jar with a strainer—put a layer of seeds at the bottom, fill with water, rinse daily until sprouting.
• Once roots appear, place the strainer back in the jar with water touching the roots.
• Replace the water every couple of days and rinse roots.
• Trim roots if they become crowded.

• Use well-drained soil with a pH of 6–7.
• Scatter seeds on top of the soil and cover with 1/4 inch of soil.
• Keep the soil moist; ideal germination temperature is around 70°F.

• For outdoor growing, sow after frost danger has passed; start seeds 7–8 weeks early.
• Sow at 1/4 inch depth, spacing seeds 12–18 inches apart.
